Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 inch (2.54 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Argent, a fess archy of the color of the rainbow Proper (Gules, Or and Azure), above a Maltese cross Sable, a bordure Azure.  Attached below and to the sides of the shield a Silver scroll inscribed "FOLLOW ME" in Blue letters.

Symbolism
The shield is white with the blue border the older and the later Infantry colors.  The rainbow is the device of the 42d Division in World War I and the black Maltese cross recalls the service of the Regiment in Puerto Rico in the Spanish-American War.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 31 July 1926.

Crest

That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Ohio Army National Guard:  On a wreath of the colors Argent and Azure, a sheaf of seventeen arrows Argent bound by a sprig of buckeye fructed Proper (Aesculus glabra, two leaves with bursting burr).

FOLLOW ME.
